geriI am Geri Dunn, a graphite western artist looking to capture the simple elements of the West and turn them into an emotional connection.

I was lucky enough to grow up in a very rural area along the Central Coast of California.  While I was still young, I became enamored by the beauty of the Santa Ynez Valley.  From the lush grassy hills during the winter and spring, to the rolling golden hills throughout the summer and fall, this area is a mecca for all types of flora and fauna to flourish.  The vast differences in color throughout the year defined my passion for capturing every image in great detail.

I have been drawing since I was 9 years old, but started putting effort into drawing 12 years ago. I take no short cuts with my efforts, ensuring that every ounce of detail is captured before I consider it completed.  I want my art to be captivating and powerful in the intense detail.  I want my sensitivity and painstaking eye for detail to give my work a depth and dimension that is truly unique.

My aim is to create art that is masterful and outstanding, yet stunning in its simplicity. I want my artwork to be inspiring and passionate, exuding an appreciation for the beauty that surrounds all of us.
