A Visit with Rendezvous

Stepping away from my drawings, at least until I get an opportunity to draw again, I decided to post a few pictures of the newest edition to the horse ranch where I live.

My friend’s mare (the one leading the two males pictured above), in the drawing Running in Open Pastures has finally given birth to her foal last Wednesday!!!  Her name is Rendezvous and she is incredible.

Strangely, the mustang is the one that is protective, trying to watch over mama and the newborn.

I am so amazed at all of this, that it’s just been so fascinating!

Below are other photos of the newborn, including one with both of her moms. 🙂

(sorry that some of these were shot in black and white…

those photos usually work best for me, but you get the idea)
This one was taken 13 hours after she was born, so she hasn’t quite been able to stand completely tall yet.
and here she is with both of her moms…

Wonderful photos – foals are so wonderful and amazing. Looks like mama is going to protect her very well. I am enjoying your drawings after “discovering” your blog recently.
