Here’s a drawing I completed recently. It’s titled Happy Canyon Cows.

Happy Canyon Cows
The reason for its’ title is based upon the fact that I took a photo of them while driving down Happy Canyon Rd in Santa Ynez, CA. The lighting was perfect in late afternoon, making the fields a perfect golden hue. I’m not sure if you can see it in the photo of my drawing, but I tried something different, with a new tool I found. What it is capable of doing is putting fine lines into the paper, which allows the lines to be carved inwards of the paper. By doing this, the lines remain light, not allowing the graphite to fill that portion of the paper. The original is much more obvious than the photo, but I liked the way it turned out. Hope you enjoy the drawing…
